Frequently Asked Questions

What size and age do I have to be to fly with you?

Our flights are suitable for people aged 14 and up and with a weight range between 40 and 110kgs. Before undertaking your flight you need to sign a disclaimer form and to tell us if there are any medical conditions that may impact on your safety or enjoyment. Examples are pregnancy, heart problems, medicated high blood pressure, or significant low blood pressure, neck or spinal injuries and similar such problems. If any of these apply please contact us to discuss the implications. In nearly every case it will not stop you from undertaking your flight but may change some aspects of the flight. If in doubt please speak to us we are happy to answer questions

Is it safe?

If we didn’t think it was safe we wouldn’t be doing it.

Flying in a high performance aircraft is not without risk and should only be attempted if you are in good health and not affected by drugs or alcohol. People planning to take an adventure flight onboard a ‘warbird’ are being urged to get on-line before taking to the skies. Essential information on adventure flights in ex-military and historic aircraft has now been published on the Civil Aviation Safety Authority’s website.

http://www.casa.gov.au/publicinfo/warbirds.htm. The website explains how the safety of adventure flights is managed and the responsibilities adventure flyers must take.

What should I wear?

We will provide a flying suit and headset. Please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes (no high heels) and clothes that allow you to put a flight suit over the top (no dresses, skirts or overly loose / bulky clothing). As it can get quite warm, please consider bringing along an extra t-shirt for after the flight.

When should I arrive?

Your appointment time shall be confirmed when you make a flight booking. Your adventure flight experience takes approximately 1.5 hours. Prior to take off you will be fitted with your flight suit and briefed on the safety aspects of the aircraft and you role during the flight. You will also be required to sign an indemnity form acknowledging that fly at your own risk.

Can I change my booking?

If you need to change your flight please let us know as soon as possible. We do not charge for changes or cancellations to bookings if you contact us the day before your flight.

Can I bring my family and friends?

Yes your family and friends are most welcome. You may also take your own camera with you in flight.

How do I get there?

Warbird Aerial Adventures is located at Hangar 213 Wagga Wagga Airport NSW. We share the facility with our parent company Regional Aviation Services Pty Ltd.

Will I be sick?

Our aim is to prevent you from being sick. Some people are more susceptible than others. The majority of people that become sick tried to be brave and didn’t tell the pilot they were feeling a bit queasy. The earlier that you tell us that you don’t feel to good, the more we can do to prevent it. The vast majority of passengers don’t have any problems.

What do I do to prevent sickness?

There are a number of preventative measures, although most have no scientific back up. We suggest having a light meal before the flight and avoiding alcohol from the night before until you’ re safely back on the ground.

What happens if the weather is unsuitable?

If the weather is unsuitable to fly we will contact you as soon as possible and arrange another suitable time.
